Calcutta Kids has been running its maternal and child health program for the last 3 years in Fakir Bagan. This has created a sense of trust towards Calcutta Kids. It has also fostered relationships between the NGO, community leaders, and Calcutta Kids beneficiaries. Both of these are crucial to setting up and operating a scheme that will be accepted by the slum dwellers. As Calcutta Kids research revealed, there is a significant correlation between being a Calcutta Kids beneficiary and showing interest in buying a health insurance product.
